  • WHEN ARE TRYOUTS?

  • HOW MANY TEAMS WILL YOU HAVE?
    For the 2024-2025 season, we plan on offering the following teams: U15 - Girls - Developmental - 1 Team U15 - Girls - Competitive - 1 Team U16 - Girls - 1 Team U17 - Girls - 1 Team U18 - Girls - 1 Team
  • HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON EACH TEAM?
    Most teams will have 12-14 players. However, it is ultimately up to the Coaches to decide how many players they want to take and they may choose more or less players.
  • WHAT AGE CATEGORY SHOULD MY DAUGHTER TRYOUT FOR?
    Below are the age categories for the 2024-2025 season, as per the Volleyball AB regulations: 18U: Athletes born from September 1, 2006 to December 31, 2007 17U: Athletes born from September 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008 16U: Athletes born from September 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009 15U: Athletes born from September 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010 If your child is born between Sept 1 and Dec 31, they can "play down" to the younger age division. Athletes that “play down” may only compete at Provincials and Nationals (all in the same age category). In order to “play down”, athletes should register, pay and attend both tryouts (correct age level and lower age level) in order to be considered for both teams.
  • ARE ATHLETES ALLOWED TO "PLAY UP" AN AGE LEVEL?
    Yes, athletes may "Play Up", but in order to do so, athletes must attend and pay for both tryouts (at their correct age division and the higher age division). This is to ensure that the Coaches are able to properly evaluate each athlete in comparison to the other athletes in that age division.
  • HOW AND WHEN WILL ATHLETES BE NOTIFIED OF TEAM SELECTION AFTER TRYOUTS?
    Athletes will be offered a position on a team personally at tryouts. Once an athlete accepts their spot on the team, the Club will email you more information about training schedules, payment, registration day.
  • DO ATHLETES HAVE TO ACCEPT THEIR SPOTS IMMEDIATELY?
    No. Although you can accept your spot right away, you do not have to. If you need time to consider your options, you will have until 6:00 p.m. on the offer signing date to accept your offer. The Offer Signing Date is determined by Volleyball AB and varies by age division. An announcement will be made once Volleyball Alberta has set the dates.
  • HOW LONG IS THE SEASON?
    The season typically begins in November/December and runs until late May/early June. The exact length of the season depends on each teams tournament schedule. Whether they decide to attend Nationals and Provincials, which is the final event of the season.
  • ​WHEN AND WHERE DO TEAMS PRACTICE? TOURNAMENTS, PREMIERS AND PROVINCIALS.
    We are currently working on securing gym spaces throughout Airdrie and Calgary. We will announce practice locations when it's confirmed on our Team App platform. U15 Competitive Team: Team will practice 3 times per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. U15 Developmental Team: Team will practice 3 times per week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. U16 Team: Team will practice 3 times per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. U17 Team: Team will practice 3 times per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. U18 Team: Team will practice 3 times per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tournaments, Premiers and Provincials: U15 Competitive to U18: Teams will play approximately 4-6 tournaments including 3 Premiers throughout the season. Tournaments and Premiers are typically held on weekends. U15 Developmental: Teams will play approximately 4-6 tournaments throughout the season. Tournaments are typically held on weekends.
  • WHEN AND WHERE DO TOURNAMENTS/PREMIERS TAKE PLACE?
    This will be announced with Volleyball Alberta for 2024-2025 season.
  • HOW MUCH ARE THE CLUB FEES AND WHAT DO THEY INCLUDE?
    Club fees for the 2024-2025 Season: U15 - U18 - $3,000 The fees include: Tournament entry fees for Volleyball Alberta premiers, including Provincials. Uniform Kits - Team uniform and gear kit (home/away jersey, backpack, practice shirts, hoodie and sweatpants Coaches stipend 3 practices per week from December to the Nationals tournament (excluding Christmas Break, Spring Break and Stat holidays) Club administration costs Team App Platform Fees do not include: Running shoes Shorts Kneepads Any extra practices (ex. if a team chooses to run a 4th practice each week) All travel expenses for out-of-town tournaments (including coaches' hotels and travel expenses) Any costs related to "extra tournaments"
  • WHAT IF I CAN'T PAY MY FEES IN ONE LUMP SUM? ARE THERE ANY PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS?
    At Bounce, we understand that the cost of joining a team can be a significant factor for many individuals. We offer a flexible payment plan to make it more accessible for everyone. For U18, U17, U16 & U15 Competitive: To join the team, there is a non-refundable $500 fee payable on team day. Additionally, we offer the option of dividing the remaining balance into 5 installments to lighten the financial load which will be organized with the Manager. For U15 Developmental: To join the team, there is a non-refundable $500 fee payable on team day. Additionally, we offer the option of dividing the remaining balance into 4 installments to lighten the financial load which will be organized with the Manager. There is also financial assistance to players through partnerships with several organizations, making it possible for individuals from varying financial backgrounds to participate in our program. Our aim is to ensure that cost is not a barrier to those eager to be a part of our volleyball community.   • WHAT IF MY DAUGHTER DECIDES TO WITHDRAW FROM PLAYING FOR THE CLUB?
    Once a player has committed to participate with Bounce and has paid club fees, it is assumed by the club that the player will continue playing throughout the season. The club has committed to gym rentals, equipment, uniforms, warm-ups and travel arrangements that are not recoverable in the event the athlete quits the club and will be a financial burden to the remaining members of the team. It is our policy that if a player withdraws from the team after being selected, the player will not be provided a refund.
